Raipur, Sep 28: The recruitment examination on 2259 posts of constables in Chhattisgarh Police that was conducted during previous BJP government has been cancelled. Director General of Police, Chhattisgarh DM Awasthi has issued an order in this regard.
According to information available, a notification was issued on December 29, 2017 for recruitment of constables on 2259 posts in the department. Accordingly the recruitment examination was held on February 21, 2018. However, the law department has its opinion on July 29, 2019 stating that appointment of constables was not valid. The law department gave its opinion on the basis of recruitment rule. Keeping this in mind, the process of recruitment of constables has been cancelled.
The order for cancellation of the recruitment of constables has come as a major blow to the candidates who appeared in recruitment examination. The candidates had earlier staged demonstration and dharna in the capital several times earlier to express resentment against inordinate delay in announcement of results after examination. (UNI)
