New Delhi, Jun 28 : After a brief encounter, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police on Friday busted a Maoist camp in Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh.
The encounter took place early morning around 0400 hours near jungles of Kohkatoli near the Rajnandgaon- Kanker-Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) border.
The 27th Battalion of ITBP along with Chhattisgarh Police reached the jungles of Kohkatoli near the Rajnandgaon- Kanker -Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) border.
There is a likelihood that a few naxals may have sustained bullet injuries, the ITBP official said.
The naxals managed to escape from the site where after search, one 303 rifle, 2 twelve bore rifle, one bharmar rifle, one air gun, wireless set, 3 tents and other daily use items were recovered.
"It is believed that it was a local Naxal group PLGA and commander Sukh Lal was leading the group in the jungle where 20 to 25 naxals were present when the encounter broke out," said the officials.
There are no reports of any injury or damage to the security forces in the encounter, the ITBP official added. (UNI)
