Hyderabad, June 14: The operations at Bailadila Mining Complexes in Chhattisgarh, which was affected due to a week long agitation by tribals of Dantewada, has resumed, state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) said on Thursday.
In a statement here, It said, after almost a week long agitation at Bailadila, the mining operations at both Bailadila Mining Complexes -- Kirandul and Bacheli- have resumed.
Prior to this, NMDC Chairman and Managing Director N.Baijendra Kumar, had a meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Acting Chief Secretary C.K. Khaitan, DGP D.M. Awasthi and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dwivedi on Wednesday.
Kumar said NMDC has received timely support from the State Government and local administration and assured that NMDC would continue to focus on local development activities with thrust on education, health, skill development and integrated village development.
The company would put all its efforts to make up for the production loss during this period, the statement added.
It may be mentioned here that the company had suspended Mining Operations at deposit 13 of its Bailadila Iron Ore mines situated on a hill, following an indefinite protest by tribals of Dantewada last week against the mining on the hill which is reserved as the shrine of a local deity. (UNI)
