Two Border Security Force (BSF) constables were today martyred and one another seriously injured during an encounter with Naxals near Mahla village, police said.
"A team of the BSF 114 Battalion was returning to their camp after conducting patrol when Maoists opened fire on them and triggered a blast. In an hour-long gun-battle, Rajasthan-resident constable Lokendra Singh and Punjab-native Mukhtayar Singh were killed while West Bengal's Sandeep Singh was injured," said Kanker Superintendent of Police KL Dhruv.
The injured constable airlifted to Raipur for treatment. Additional force was rushed to the scene. The bodies of martyred constables would be sent to their native places after post-mortem. (UNI)
