Petrol-diesel prices rise for sixth consecutive day

New Delhi, Jan 7 :Petrol and diesel prices recorded increase for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday. During these six days, petrol has become costlier by 60 paise and diesel by 83 paise in the national capital.

According to the website of the Indian Oil Corporation, the country's largest oil marketing company, petrol in Delhi rose by Rs 5 to Rs 75.74 per litre, the highest level since November 22 , 2018.

The price of diesel rose by 11 paise to the highest level of Rs 68.79 per litre after November 27 , 2018. Petrol prices in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai also rose by five paise to Rs 78.33, Rs 81.33 and Rs 78.69 per litre, respectively. The price of diesel increased by 12 paise to Rs 72.14 per litre in Mumbai. In Kolkata and Chennai, its price increased by 11 paise to Rs 71.15 and Rs 72.69 per litre, respectively. (UNI)
