New Delhi, Oct 31: Keeping in mind the deteriorating standards of air quality in the country, health and hygiene brand -- Eureka Forbes -- on Thursday launched India's first air purifiers with a disease protection system and an H1N1 HEPA filter that helps prevent swine flu.

The purifiers are powered by six-stage filtration systems to tackle the new-age pollutants and viruses.

''Air purifiers are no longer a luxury but have become a necessity as per the alarming increase in the nation's air pollution levels. We have come up with latest technology induced in these purifiers to fight the new-age pollutants in the air. With this innovation, we intend to make our consumers' homes safer and pollution free'', Eureka Forbes MD & CEO Marzin R Shroff said while launching the purifiers.

A study by Airvisual and Greenpeace placed 15 Indian cities among the 20 most polluted in the world. New Delhi, home to more than 20 million people, was ranked at 11, making it the world's most polluted capital – ahead of Dhaka and Kabul. Another study showed that air pollution kills a child every three minutes. These statistics clearly show the need for home technology to keep families safe.

Through these purifiers, the company ensures safety from pollutants like dust, smoke, harmful chemicals, 99.97 per cent of micro-particles such as particulate matter (PM 2.5 and 10), fine dust, pollen, mould spores and also protects against swine flu. The purifiers come with real-time, wifi-enabled control systems for which the user has to download the Smart Life mobile app. It is available on Android as well as iOS. (UNI)
