Hyderabad, Oct 10 : India’s pioneering and innovative mattress brand, Duroflex, on Thursday said that it would set up a green field mattress unit in Maharashtra and double the capacity of the existing unit at Medchal in Telangana with a total investment of Rs 100 crore by next year.
The company has six manufacturing units currently in the country including one at Medchal , Duroflex Pvt. Ltd Managing Director Mathew Chandy told reporters at the sidelines of introducing Duropedic, India’s first orthopaedic mattress certified by the National Health Academy, here.
The current capacity of Medchal unit was 5,000 mattress per day and its capacity would be doubled by next year, he said the proposed green field plant capacity was between 500-600 units per day, which supply mattress to Maharashtra and Gujarat states.
The total market size of the mattress was Rs 10,000 crore p.a including organized and unorganized , however, the company’s current market share was between 10-15 per cent, he informed.
Our company’s turnover was Rs 600 crore and expected 20 per cent growth in this fiscal, he added.(UNI)
