Hyderabad, Oct 4: Amazon Festive Yatra, a house-on-wheels roadshow with 600 products from Amzon reached here on Friday.

The Amazon Festive Yatra commenced its journey on the midnight of September 29 at New Delhi and it will end at Bangaluru at 11.59pm hours tonight. Enroute the journey, the Amazon Festive Yatra” trucks engaged with its customers and sellers in Agra, Chennai, Indore, Kolkata, Kochi, Mathura, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam and other cities.

Amazon Festive Yatra – a unique “house-on-wheels” bringing the best of India together in one place. It is a celebration of the best Indian selection, bringing together not just the big brands available for the Great Indian Festival but also unique products from small & medium businesses, startups & artisans from every State & Union Territory of India.

The specially curated house-on-wheels also includes selection from Amazon’s Karigar & Saheli programs. With 3 special trucks, Amazon Festive Yatra visited 13 cities covering over 6,000 kms throughout the festive season, providing a great opportunity for Amazon customers and sellers to engage, and share insights and opinions.

Talking to newsmen on the occasion, Ms Shalini Puchalapalli, Director-Category Management, Amazon India, Mr Kishore Thota, Director, Customer Experience & Marketing, Amazon India and Mr Arun Sirdeshmukh-Head-Amazon Fashion-Amazon India said that Amazon has developed an entire ecosystem to offer an incomparable shopping experience to customers.

The online marketplace has partnered with hundreds of leading brands, enabled over 500,000 sellers with 200 million products to sell on Every day 2 lakhs products were adding in Amazon and expanded fulfillment footprint with more than 50 fulfillment centres in 13 states offering a storage capacity of over 26 million cubic feet, they added.

Speaking on business during the festive season, Mr Arun said that during the first 36 hours, we grew 7-8 times in fashion category as compared to last year. In a single day, we did more than million transactions including clothes, shoes, watches, jewelry. When look at the new customers, Fashion is number one business, he added. (UNI)
