Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Sep 3 : In accordance with its' 63rd foundation day, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) on Monday pledged that the day will be celebrated by observing country-wide Insurance Week between September 1-7.
Addressing media here at the LIC Divisional Office,senior Division Manager Kulbhushan Sharma said that the week-long event has been lined-up with several CSR initiatives like tree plantations,blood donation camps,felicitation programme of retired employees,yoga camps,among others.
He further said that the Aurangabad Division,composed of Aurangabad, Beed, Latur and Osmanabad districts,having a strength of 748 employees and 8,955 LIC agents is providing customer services through a network of 17 branches,10 satellite as well as 10 mini offices dotting the region.
"Shortly,we are opening a new satellite office so as to extend more convenience to our valued customers.At present,16.42 lakh policy holders exist in the division," he told.
He remarked that in the last financial year,the Division has settled Rs 669 crore against 1,60,327 claims. Asserting that the prevailing drought in Marathwada region has not impacted business,he commented,"Our division is on top in new single premium market across the country."
"LIC has launched 2 new products-Jeevan Amar and online Take Term Plan-this year,"he added. UNI
