Kolkata, Aug 26 : Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) organized International Ethical Hacking Conference eHaCON to give an open platform to discuss the implication of new technologies for secured society.
The conference was a balanced mix consisting of technical paper presentations, live demonstrations, workshops, gaming competition and online coding competition on hacking.
The goal was to kick-start efforts to fully automate cyber defence.
The most substantial new findings of computer network attacks and defences, commercial security solutions and pragmatic real-world security experiences were presented in the six-day informative workshop, coding and gaming competition, research paper presentations and invited talks in the form of a panel discussion on the topic “Present Security Scenario in Digital India” and keynote speeches.
Many eminent personalities in the field of cybersecurity like Mr Sandeep Sengupta from Indian School of Ethical Hacking, Mr Nirupam Chaudhuri from NASSCOM, Mr Diptiman Dasgupta, Mr Suman Das of IBM, Mr Anupam Agarwal of TCS, Mr Atul Agarwal of Apt Software Avenues Pvt Ltd. and Mr Basudev Gangopadhyay of ITORIZIN delivered keynote speeches.
The speakers emphasised on the value of skills over marks, and encouraged students to follow their hearts, and learn about security and cybercrime. They discussed some technical aspects of how to achieve a safer world in the era of the internet.
The coding and gaming competitions were especially a great hit. Coding competition “DeCipher” in association with CodeChef saw 900 teams across the world. Gaming competition included Classic CFT in which each team had to hack a vulnerable network to win. The success of eHaCON 2019 surpassed many expectations.
The participating students said that the conference was very enriching and insightful and they would love to participate in more such conferences. (UNI)
