Hyderabad, Aug 16 : Mangamma foods Private Limited (MFPL), a start-up company, based in Hyderabad, on Friday announced entering into ‘Ready2cook’segment under the brand name of “Ammamma’s” by manufacturing range of fresh and high nutrition value foods in Chapati, poori and paratha. The company established its unit near Kukatpally in the city with an initial investment of Rs 25 lakh in Ammamma’s food products and this will support to cater 40k of chapati/poori/paratha every single day, Company Co-Founder, Nagasai Viswanath, who has successfully managed business in India and Africa , said at a press conference here.
Currently, the Company is making the range of ready to cook packed products of high in fiber and low oil absorbing Poori and different nutrition values in Chapati—Plain Chapati, Ragi Chapati, Methi Chapati, Multigrain Chapati and Moringa Chapati and Parotha, he informed. Average cost of each Chapati is at Rs 7 a piece, the industry size would be 4 crore a month, Mr Viswanath said ‘Ammamma’s Chapati is made of 100 percent whole wheat chakki fresh atta and follow the food products guidelines from food authorities and have a shelf life of seven days.
Mr Viswanath, who had earlier worked as Business Head/Country Head for Globacom, a telecom company in Ghana also worked with companies including Cocacola, SAB-Miller, Marico Industries, Parle Biscuits, said founders of the company were trained and awarded the technology transfer by CFTRI, Mysore to make and serve products with quality and longer shelf life. “We believe that Quality gives us continuous business and revenue,” he said currently, the company is supplying to more than 30,000 houses and our products are accessible to more than 50,000 household/flats in different gated communities and apartments in the city, he informed.
We will soon be available in organized retail in Hyderabad and our main target areas is gated community and multi-level apartments besides hotels, hospitals, educational institutions, he said there are many Chapati makers on the street and partially mechanized, very few are able to sell beyond a small geographical area within Hyderabad. There is no competitor in this segment under organized sector, except ID Fresh food, he said we are producing local tasted ready2cook food with high nutrition value. This segment has huge potential and we hope to reach one lakh units by this year end and double in the next two-years, he added.
As and when the demand increases, we will raise funds for expansion of the unit to meet the demand, he said, adding we are also planning to offer ready-to-cook chapati curry but it was at the R and D stage. Our reach is primarily driven by the promotion of entrepreneurs who could invest as low as Rs.2,500 to cater to the communities they live in or around them, he added. Co-founder of the Company, Prathima Viswanath said that we are looking forward to make a difference by contributing to the food needs of working women, senior citizens and for those looking for healthy but quick to cook meals and snacks segment.UNI
