New Delhi, Aug 4 : In less than five months, Roposo, a short video platform, has doubled its user base from 21 million users to 44 million users.
Owing to its vernacular reach, the app currently boasts of 7 million user generated posts and 5.5 billion video views in a month. It has gained much popularity in the south and has seen an exponential growth, especially among Tamil users.
The app recorded a 150 per cent growth in the number of Tamil users (in less than six months), who spend about 29 minutes on the platform every day.
Roposo provides its uses with a TV-like interface on their mobiles and a plethora of channels (like humour, news, facts, fitness, dance among many others) to consume and create content from.
One of the key factors behind this rapid increase in app engagement is the way Roposo focuses on its rising talent. Along with 25 plus interest-based channels on the app, it has a dedicated channel ‘Roposo Stars’ for promoting fresh and upcoming talent.Its stars from Chennai have shown their expertise in creating funny, concept based and dance related videos on the platform. Users are also drawn to the platform’s monetisation benefits. By creating engaging short video content, users can earn Roposo coins as well as gift Roposo coins to other users as a gesture of encouragement for their videos. These coins can later be encashed via payment gateways.
