Hyderabad, Jun 27 : LG Electronics , which has launched opulent W-Series smartphone range- W10, W30 and W 30 pro-manufactured in India here on Thursday, was planning to roll out two more devices under the series as well as introduce more devices in Q and G Series by this year end.
The new smartphones price ranging from Rs 8,000-Rs 15,000 and the W Series devices had been completely designed , developed and manufactured in India only , LG India Business head (Mobiles ) Advait Vaidya told reporters on the occasion.
The company plans to sell one million units from its W Series in 2019, he said the Rs 8,000-Rs 15,000 price range segment was growing fast at a rate of 20-25 per cent year-on-year in the country while the broader smartphone category was set to grow at 12-15 per cent year-on-year.
As a part of the national roll out, the company has introduced three devices under W series in Telangana market, Mr Vaidya said the series claims to offer best-in-class cameras, display, battery and other features.
W10 is priced at Rs 8,999, W30 is priced at Rs 9,999 , but the company has not disclosed the price of W30 Pro as it was available on Amazon platform only.
LG which sells 5 G device LG V50 in the US and Korea, plans to roll out this device in India in the second half of 2020, he informed.
To a question, he said that we have no current plans to set up a another unit in the country but we are keen to increase the production capacity at the existing units in Pune and Greater Noida depending on the demand in the country. (UNI)
