Hyderabad, May 2 : In a bid to avoid traffic with its environment-friendly stand, Microsoft in collaboration with Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) on Thursday kicked off its shuttle bus services from Hitec City Metro station to Microsoft campus.
HMRL Managing Director Mr NVS Reddy stated that already 20 IT/ITES companies have introduced shuttle services from Hitec City and Durgam Cheruvu stations to their respective campuses, indicating that with last mile connectivity slowly emerging, Metro ridership is steadily going up and that daily about 2.50 lakh passengers are using Metro Rail services.
Underlining that Microsoft has an abiding commitment to environment sustainability, company's vice president Mr Rajiv Kumar said that introduction of shuttle services from campuses to Metro stations will benefit the employees and also reduce traffic congestion in this area.
Appreciating the initiative, Mr Sajjanar made an appeal to other companies to run similar shuttle services to reduce traffic congestion in Cyberabad area, which is infamous for its rush-hour delays. UNI
