Thiruvananthapuram, May 2: Tata Steel has targetted Rs 1,000 crore turnover from Kerala market in the next 2-3 years, Company Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Mr Peeyush Gupta said on Thursday.
Announcing that the Company has opened a new sales office in Kochi, Mr. Gupta said the initiative has a twin-pronged objective of addressing the growing demand for steel products in Kerala and strengthening the company’s customer connect in the southern State.
Over the last few years, Tata Steel’s presence in the state has grown manifold and acceptance of the Tata brand in the State is very high, he said in a release here. The market for steel products and the Company’s turnover from sales in the State, both have grown over the years.
The opening of the new office is expected to reinforce the company’s customer connect and its ability to offer services and solutions with greater focus. Customers, too, have peace of mind and readily relate with a brand that has a local address in the State, he said. With the opening of its office in Kochi, the Tata Steel’s branded product footprint will now be firmly entrenched in all 14 districts of the State, Mr Gupta said.
The portfolio will include TATA TISCON (rebars), TATA SHAKTEE (GC Sheets), TATA ASTRUM (hot rolled coils), TATA STEELIUM (cold rolled products) and GALVANO and DURASHINE (coated products), Services and Solution offerings such as TATA PRAVESH DOORS and WINDOWS, NEST-IN SOLUTIONS, and downstream brands like TATA TUBES, TATA WIRON, TATA AGRICO and TATA BEARINGS.
Mr Peeyush Gupta said over the last few years, Kerala has emerged as a market with immense and untapped potential. This will make Kochi the only office of Tata Steel in the country with nearly 100 per cent of the revenue from sales of branded products, he added. UNI
