Hyderabad, Apr 1: State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has created a new recordby achieving highest ever record turnover in transport of coal and coal production in the financial year 2018-19.
In this fiscal, the Coal Mining company created a new record by achieving sales of Rs 25,828 crore, registering a 21 per cent growth as against sales of Rs 21,323 crore garnered in last financial year (2017-18).Similarly, this year a record 676.73 lakh tonnes of coal was transported to different industries and achieved a growth of 5 per cent over last year which was 646.19 lakh tonnes while 4 per cent growth was achieved in coal production in this financial year which is 644.05 lakh tonnes when compared to last year which was 620 lakh tonnes.This is the first time that turnover in coal transport and coal production was achieved in such magnitude, the Mining company said in a release here on Monday. Company Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar congratulated the workers, officials, supervisory staff and union leaders on this achievement. He called for the same zeal to be continued in the new financial year. He also thanked the Railway department for their cooperation in transport of coal. (UNI)
