GoAir begins operations to Muscat from Kannur

Kannur, Feb 28 : Budget carrier GoAir on Thursday commenced direct flight operations to Muscat from the recently commissioned Kannur international airport.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Arjun Das Gupta, Vice president, GoAir international operations said, three weekly flight between Kannur to Muscat will be operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during winter and Summer days.

The second international service of GoAir from Kannur to Abu Dhabi will begin on Friday.

The G8 055 flight will depart from Kannur at 2145 hrs and reach Muscat at 0005 hrs, which was effective from February 28.

The return flight G8 056 depart from Muscat at 0105 hrs and reach Kannur at 0600 hrs during Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, which was effective from March 1.

"Close on the heels of successfully launching Male and Phuket Sectors, GoAir touch the skies of Middle East. The overwhelming response has validated our strong belief that there is huge potential between Kannur to Muscat and Abdu Dhabi", Mr Arjun Das Guptha said.

He also said the domestic service to Thiruvanathapuram will commence in coming months. At present domestic services to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai sectors are operative with positive results.

The service of four weekly flights G8 053 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) between Kannur to Abu Dhabi will depart at 2210 hrs and reach Abu Dhabi at 0040 hrs, which was effective from March 1 during winter season.

The return flight G8 054 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) will depart from Abu Dhabi at 0140 hrs and reach Kannur at 0710 hrs, which effect from March 2.

Meanwhile, in summer season from March 31 onwards, the Kannur to Abu Dhabi flight will leave at 1845 hrs and reach at 2115 hrs and the return flight will depart at 2215 hrs and reach Kannur at 0345 hrs.
