Kolkata, Feb 14: PepsiCo India is planning to expand its operations in Bengal by setting up a new production line at its state-of-the-art snacks manufacturing facility.
This is among the several investment proposals that were announced at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2019. This plan has the potential to generate over 300 additional employment opportunities in Bengal.
The company has also said through a press release on Thursday, February 7 that it plans to increase the sourcing of potatoes from Bengal by 50 per cent.
Moreover, a delegate representing Coca-Cola announced that the multinational plans to invest Rs 500 crore in Siliguri, which will further rejuvenate the industry scenario in north Bengal. The beverages to snacks MNC, Pepsico said the company plans to double its snacks business in India by 2022. (UNI)
