Mumbai, Oct 12 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) surged on Friday by 732.43 points to end firm at 34,733.58, recovering from a brutal sell-off in the previous session, on firm cues from Asian and European peers.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) also advanced by 237. 85 points to 10,472.
Reliance Industries was the top Sensex contributor, adding 120 points, followed by HDFC Bank (+88.34), ITC (+81.49), HDFC (+74.63), Kotak Bank (+64.49), Maruti Suzuki (+54.17) and ICICI Bank (+46.48). TCS remained the only Sensex loser, which closed with losses of over 3%.
TCS, HCL Technologies, Dr Reddy’s Lab and Tech Mahindra were the only losers on the National Stock Exchange. (UNI)
