Mumbai, Sep 11: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday improved by 95 points at 38,017.49 in opening trade on fresh buying in Materials, Finance, IT, Utilities and Auto stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 33 points to 11,476.85. Slumping by 467 points yesterday, the Sensex opened in green on Tuesday. The sectoral indices that pushed the market were Materials, Finance, IT, Utilities and Auto stocks.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 38,043.27 and 37,838.30 respectively. The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,479.40 and 11,415.95 respectively.
The gainers were M & M by 2.17 pc to Rs 958.35, Axis Bank by 1.81 pc to Rs 663.35, VEDL by 1.64 pc to Rs 226.75 and SBI by 1.46 pc to Rs 289.15.
The losers were ITC by 2.87 pc to Rs 297.40, Hero MotoCorp by 1.86 pc to Rs 3217.35, Hind Unilever by 1.42 pc to Rs 1587.75 and HDFC by 1.18 pc to Rs 1861.50. (UNI)
