Mumbai, Sep 11: Withering to a fresh 15-month low, the benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) on Tuesday tumbled down by 515 points at 37406.38. The Nifty down by 152.10 points at 11,286.
While 797 shares advanced, 1,791 shares declined. Weakness in the Indian currency is a worry, with the rupee falling to an all-time low of 72.74 per US dollar. Weakness in emerging markets continues to weigh on the Indian currency.
Government's 10-year bond yield has surged to a four year high of 8.19 percent. The losers were Tata Steel Power Grid and Titan. The gainers were Coal India and M&M. UNI
