Mumbai, Sep 6: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday recovered by 143 points to open at 38,161.85 as fresh buying in Metals, Bankex, Realty, FMCG, Health Care and Industrials stocks.
Recovery in rupee and fall in global crude oil prices too boosted the same. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 38 points to 11,514.15. The Sensex registered intra day high ane low at 38,182.77 and37,983.15 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,519.95 and 11,459.50 respectively. The gainers were Powergrid by 3.13 pc to Rs 201, Tata Steel by 2.04 pc to Rs 606, Kotak Bank by 1.73 pc to Rs 1260 and Coal India by 1.26 pc to Rs 281.
The losers were ONGC by 0.69 pc to Rs 172.60, TCS by 0.59 pc to Rs 2065.90, VEDL by 0.57 pc to Rs 228.25 and Axis Bank by 0.56 pc to Rs 633.80. (UNI)
