US hotel chain opens first hotel in India

Zirakpur, Sep 1: United States based hospitality chain G6 Hospitality LLC has set up its first property under its international brand 'Hotel 6' in India (Punjab) in collaboration with domestic company Auromatrix Holdings and aims to take number of such hotels to nearly 40 in next five years, officials of both the companies announced here on Saturday.

The Hotel 6, situated at a prominent location along the Chandigarh-Ambala National Highway-22, is a 175 room modern, spread over six floors, offers a completely distinctive and unique guest experience, the companies officials claimed.

Sharing their plans for India, Auromatrix Holdings Chairman Kumar Sitaraman, Mr Rob Palleschi, Chief Executive Officer and Mr Mike McGeehan of G6 Hospitality, said they aims to open more such properties at Tier I, II and emerging cities across India and take these numbers to nearly forty in next five years.

"Hotel 6 is a brand of the G6 Hospitality which owns three iconic American brands - Motel 6, Studio 6 and Hotel 6. The first Motel 6 was opened to public in 1962 in Santa Barbara, California. (UNI)
