The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday bounced back by 279.35 points to 37,444.51 on widespread buying by participants in rate-sensitive realty, auto and banking stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too advanced by 83.45 points to 11,328.15. The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 37,462.58 and 37,319.61 respectively.The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,336.15 and 11,294.55 respectively.
The sectoral indices that advanced were Materials, Energy, FMCG, Finance and Bankex.The gainers were VEDL by 3.36 pc to Rs 221.35, Yes Bank by 2.89 pc to Rs 372.20, ICICI Bank by 2.48 pc to Rs 305.25 and Axis Bank by 1.82 pc to Rs 556.05.
The losers were Asian Paints by 0.47 pc to Rs 1411.85, Wipro by 0.32 pc to Rs 278.15 and Infosys by 0.14 pc to Rs 2018.65. UNI
