The BSE sensex on Monday surged by 200 points to 35,858.48 in opening trade on firm global cues.
The 30-share of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too moved up by 55 points to 10,828.50. The sectoral indices led by oils & gas, realty, auto and IT kept the market firm in early trade. In scrips, VEDL, Axis Bank, Sun Pharma, Tata Motors and Yes Bank increased.
It registered intra day high and low at 35,931.09 and 35,779.72 respectively. The Nifty recorded day high and low at 10,844.70 and 10,807.15 respectively.
The gainers were VEDL by 2.64 pc to Rs 225.30, Axis Bank by 2.10 pc to Rs 525.05, Sun Pharma by 1.93 pc to Rs 569.25 and Yes Bank by 1.65 pc to Rs 358.20. The losers were TCS by 1.19 pc to Rs 1890.45, HDFC by 0.51 pc toRs 1906 and Coal India by 0.44 pc to Rs 270.10. (UNI)
