Patna, May 13: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that all steps should be taken to increase the testing capacity upto 10,000 samples per day as the present pattern of random testing is not enough to contain coronavirus infection.
Kumar, during a review meeting with senior officials, said that random testing was proving to be insufficient to contain coronavirus infection. The need of the hour was to increase the testing capacity up to 10,000 samples per day and all steps should be taken to achieve this goal, he noted. Oxygen supply, pulse oximeter, isolation beds and other essentials should be increased in hospitals to cope with the emerging challenge. Number of quarantine centres should be increased and isolation beds should also be made available in quarantine centres, he added. (UNI)
