Patna, May 13 : With death of a coronavirus infected 56-years old woman patient in the state capital on Wednesday, altogether seven people including a woman died of COVID 19 in Bihar so far.Principal Health secretary Sanjay Kumar said here today that a woman died at Nalanda Medical College Hospital.

The woman, resident of Makhanpur Idgah locality in Alamganj of the state capital was admitted at NMCH in Patna on May 8. Her sample was collected on May 9 and the report of her being infected with coronavirus tested positive on May 10. She was also suffering from Gallbladder cancer. He said that the patient got treatment at Patna Medical College Hospital on April 28 after which she went back to her home in Alamganj. She again went to Danapur on May 4.

She also got treatment at Patna city with a local doctor. Later Mahavir cancer Sansthan Patna referred her for Covid-19 test on May 8 following which she went to NMCH the same day. She had neither any travel history or contact history.Prior to this, six deaths were reported due to coronavirus till date in Bihar.On May 10, a 60-year old male found to be Covid 19 positive died due to coronavirus infection at Patna Medical College Hospital. Mr Kumar said that the person belonging to Belchi in Patna was admitted at the hospital on May 8 and died the very next day. He said that this person had come from Delhi and was quarantined thereafter. He was also a case of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. On May 7, a 70-year old person of Dhaurahra village of Sasaram block in Rohtas district died due to the infection.

His test reports for coronavirus infection came after his death. On May 2, a -5 years old person of Sitamarhi died due to this infection at Nalanda Medical College Hospital .The person had returned to Sitamarhi from Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai on April 28 and was a serious case of lung malignancy.On May 1, a 54-years old male of Banjaria in East Champaran died due to coronavirus at Nalanda Medical College Hospital. He was admitted at the hospital on April 27 after coming back from Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai on April 20 . He had a serious case of terminal oropharyngeal malignancy (mouth and throat cancer) .A 35-year old youth of Raghopur in Vaishali district died due to coronavirus infection on April 17 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna. He was admitted at the hospital on April 14 and tested positive for the virus on April 15.The first Death was reported on March 21 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna. Saif Ali who had returned from Qatar to Munger died on March 21. (UNI)
