With 17 more cases of Coronavirus, tally reaches to 724 in Bihar

Patna, May 10 : With 17 more new cases of coronavirus including eight cops of Bihar Military Police (BMP) coming to light the tally increased to 724 in Bihar so far. Principal Health Secretary Sanjay Kumar said here today that 11 cases were reported from Patna and two each from Nawada, Bhagalpur and Gopalganj.

He said that 8 cops of BMP 14 in Khajpura of the state capital tested positive for coronavirus infection. The cops testing positive for the infection were of 24, 26 ,33, 34, 36 ,39, 45 and 50 years of age. Their infection trail was being ascertained. It may be recalled that 5 cops of BMP were earlier detected positive for coronavirus. Mr Kumar further said that apart from BMP 14 in Khajpura, two cases of 45 and 60 years of age were reported from Athmalgola and another 45 year old person from Belchi in Patna district.

He said that a 31-year old person was found to be infected at Hisua and a 30-year old at Sirdala in Nawada district. According to him, a 22-year old youth and a 34-year old person were detected positive at Vijaypur in Gopalganj. He further said that a 21-year old youth was found suffering from coronavirus infection at Lodipur and another 40-year old person at Sultanganj in Bhagalpur district. Their infection train was being ascertained.

Prior to this, 11 cases came to light during the day. Of these cases 5 were from Khagaria, 4 from Begusarai and 2 from Banka. In Khagaria the cases were reported from Chautham. He said that those tested positive were 23, 31, 32, 33 and 42 years old. In Begusarai, a 17-year old boy and a 52-year old person were detected at Barauni whereas 28- year old youth was found at Bakhri and a 25-year old youth at Nawakothi. In Banka, a 40-year old person reported to be positive at Singhia and a 45-year old at Shambhuganj. (UNI)
