Patna, May 11 : With 11 new cases of coronavirus coming to light, the tally increased to 707 in Bihar on Monday. Principal health Secretary Sanjay Kumar said today that five cases were reported from Khagaria ,four from Begusarai and two from Banka. All the people who tested positive for coronavirus were males. Giving details, he said that in Khagaria the cases were reported from Chautham and those who tested positive were 23, 31,32,33 and 42 years old. He said that in Begusarai two cases came to light at Barauni and one each at Aakhri and Nawakothi.
A 17-year-old boy and a 52-year-old man were detected at Barauni whereas a 28-year-old youth was found infected at Bakhri and a 25-year-old youth at Nawakothi. According to him, a 40-year-old man reported to be positive at Singhia and a 45-year-old man was found to be infected with coronavirus at Shambhuganj in Banka District. He said that 28 patients recovered yesterday, and of the total infected persons in Bihar, 358 patients have recovered so far. Currently there are 343 active cases in Bihar, he said, adding that all the infected people are undergoing treatment.
Altogether six people have died of coronavirus infection in Bihar till date. Out of 38 districts, the COVID-19 cases have been found in 37 districts, and Munger with 115 cases has emerged as the hotspot followed by Patna with 61, Rohtas with 59, Buxar 56, Nalanda 50, Siwan 33 ,Kaimur 32, Begusarai 31, Madhubani 24 ,Bhagalpur 23, Bhojpur 20, Gopalganj 18, Aurangabad 15, East Champaran 14, Darbhanga, West Champaran, Katihar and Khagaria with 11 each, Madhepura ,Saharsa and Kishanganj with 9 each, Saran, Samastipur and Gaya with 8 each, Nawada 7 ,Banka ,Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi 6 each, Jehanabad 5, Lakhisarai, Araria and Vaishali 4 each, Sheohar 3 ,Purnia and Sheikhpura 2 each and Supaul 1.
