Patna, May 9 : The ruling party and the opposition were at loggerheads on the issue of payment of the train fare of the labourers stuck in the lockdown whose fares were paid by the Delhi government. Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejasvi Prasad Yadav extended his thanks to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for showing generosity towards the labourers whereas the ruling party termed it as misleading and said that Mr Kejriwal was only doing politics on the matter.

The Rajya Sabha member of Aam Aadmi Party Sanjay Singh today displayed the cheque amounting to rupees 6 lakh 40000 in media saying that Bihar government has made a policy that the labourers returning to Bihar would get their train fare reimbursed after their arrival. Through a tweet Mr Singh said that the railway was demanding the fare prior to running the train.

He said that the railway and Bihar government were passing the buck to each other over the issue and in such a situation the Delhi government paid the fare to the Railways through check in advance. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav extending his thanks to the Delhi government said that this has exposed the real face of Bihar Government which should be ashamed of its policy. Retorting sharply to the statement of Tejaswi Yadav, senior BJP leader and road construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav alleged that Mr Kejriwal created a situation forcing the labourers in the lockdown to return to their native places.

The Bihar government had made all arrangements for food and lodging for the labourers wherever they were stuck in the lockdown. He said that Mr Kejriwal was only doing politics on the matter and the people have now realise his actual face. JD ( U ) leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad blamed Kejriwal for adopting double standard saying that Mr Kejriwal on one hand paid the train fare while on the other he was demanding back the same from Bihar Government.
