COVID-19: Bihar reports one death, eight positive cases

Patna, May 8: With one more death and eight new coronavirus cases coming to light on Thursday, the COVID-19 claimed five lives and infected 550 people so far in the state. Principal Health Secretary Sanjay Kumar said here that a 70-year-old person of Sasaram in Rohtas district died due to coronavirus infection during the day. Giving details of the cases reported during the day, he said that a 16-year-old boy tested positive for coronavirus infection at Khajpura in the state capital Patna whereas a 16-year-old boy was found to be positive at Khareek in Bhagalpur.

A 42-year-old person was detected to be infected with coronavirus at Kishanganj town in Kishanganj. A 10-year-old boy tested positive for coronavirus at Garhwa Sadar in Sheohar district, he informed and added that a 32-year-old youth was found to be infected with coronavirus at Bharthua in Jehanabad district whereas a 30-year-old male was detected coronavirus positive at Madanpur in Aurangabad district. A 56-year-old female and a 70-year-old male had tested positive for the infection at Sasaram in Rohtas district. Later, the 70-year-old male patient died during the day.(UNI)
