Patna, May 4: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar giving a major relief to those stuck outside in lockdown, today announced that state government would bear their train fare of homecoming and they would also be given Rs 500 each when they would return home from quarantine Centres.
Kumar, by making such an announcement giving relief to migrant labourers, students, tourists and others, virtually put at rest all political statements appearing in media over the issue. All migrant labourers, students, tourists and others would not have to pay train fare while returning to their homes and they would also be paid Rs 500 after end of their quarantine period, he added.
The Chief Minister said that students, migrant labourers, tourists and others would not have to pay single penny against train fare. Bihar government would bear the train fare right from the station from where they would board the train for homecoming, he added. Mr Kumar said that state government would pay the entire amount to Railways against the fare of bringing back those stuck in lockdown. Roughly, all those returning homes would get Rs 1,000 against the train fare and Rs 500 in cash, he added. (UNI)
