Patna, Dec 1 : RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today slammed Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar government for spiralling prices of onions across the country and in Bihar, saying its had now reached at par with pomegranate (Aanar), a nutritious fruit.
Mr Prasad tweeted, " Under the era of Modi, Paswan and Nitish, onions are like pomegranate ". People particularly middle class and poor were finding it hard to purchase onions and both the government at the Centre and in Bihar remained a mute spectators, he remarked.
As it is, onions are being sold from Rs 70 to Rs 80 per Kg in Bihar and other parts of the country causing great difficulties to common man.
In Bihar, the state government had opened outlets to make available onions to common man at subsidised rates and its limit to per person was fixed at 2 Kg. RJD chief Mr Prasad is presently lodged in Jail in Ranchi and undergoing treatment for various ailments in Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Ranchi under judicial custody. (UNI)
