Patna, Aug 17 : Tightening noose around Independent MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh, Police booked him under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act following recovery of AK 47 assault rifles and huge quantity of explosives from his house during a raid at Ladma village under Barh sub divisional area in Patna district on Friday.
Patna police superintendent (rural) Kantesh Kumar Mishra said that an FIR was registered against Mr Singh under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act(UAPA) at Barh police station late last night. He said that police would approach court to pray for issuance of arrest warrant against him.
"Everything is in process and appropriate action would be taken in the case," Mr Mishra said that the raid was conducted at the ancestral house of Mr Singh following specific intelligence input. Sources said recovery of AK 47 from Mr Singh's ancestral house also created speculation whether he had purchased it from arms suppliers who got access to the sophisticated firearms following theft of them from Jabalpur based ordnance factory.
