Darbhanga, Jul 7: Former Union minister Ali Ashraf Fatmi, who was expelled from RJD for his alleged anti-party activities following denial of ticket in Lok Sabha election, today announced that he would join JD (U).

Mr Fatmi told newspersons here that he along with his thousands of supporters would join JD (U) in November this year. He said that the majority of workers and leaders from RJD would join JD (U), adding that he would soon declare the date on which he would join the party.

As it is, Mr Fatmi, anguished over denial of RJD ticket in Lok Sabha election had first resigned from all party posts and subsequently from primary membership of the party on April 17. Later, he was expelled from the party on the ground of indulging in anti-party activities.

Mr Fatmi had said that he was in politics for more number of years than what was the age of RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav. He had also said that RJD chief Lalu Prasad himself had approached him and he had not requested him for his re-induction into the party last time.

“I had been expelled from the party for six years even as no notice was served to him,” he had claimed. (UNI)
