Patna, Jul 2: The opposition parties created ruckus in Bihar Assembly today demanding the resignation of state health minister Mangal Pandey over deaths of children due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) forcing the adjournment of the house till lunch recess only after 15 minutes of proceedings.
As soon as the house assembled for the day, speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary apprised members of the decision taken in the business advisory committee's meeting last Monday. He said as per decision, the first supplementary budget would be tabled in the house on July 19.
Later, RJD, CPI (ML) and Congress members started demanding resignation of state health minister Mangal Pandey by holding him responsible for large number of deaths of children due to Acute Encephalitis (AES) in Muzaffarpur.
Agitating members demanded from the government to dismiss Mr Pandey from his post if he did not resign from his post on his own. (UNI)
