Aurangabad, June 16: In what appears to be one of the biggest casualties in a single day due to sunstroke in Bihar, 30 people lost their lives in Aurangabad district, while condition of 10 others are critical.
Civil Surgeon of Aurangabad Dr Surendra Kumar Singh said that people affected with sunstroke started pouring-in in Sadar Hospital from various blocks of the district on Saturday afternoon. A total of 30 people lost their lives during the treatment, while condition of 10 others remained critical, he added.
“Doctors attending the patients informed that some of them were in delirium condition due to sunstroke when admitted to hospital,” Dr Singh said adding that some patients were in complete unconscious stage.
He said that the number of casualties was 30 which could increase further.
