Patna, Apr 05 : Firebrand BJP leader and union Minister Giriraj Singh, known for his vitriolic comments, shifted from Nawada to Begusarai this time, is pitted against another firebrand young CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar, has made it a high voltage battle while RJD candidate Tanveer Hassan appears to be a silent contestant.
Mr Singh, who had expressed his willingness to contest from Begusarai Lok Sabha seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, was virtually forced to contest from Nawada seat. His reluctance then could be gauged from the fact that ultimately at the time of leaving for Nawada to file nomination in 2014, he had said that a number of sacrifices were made earlier by him and he was going there for another sacrifice in his political career.
Luck had smiled on Mr Singh as he emerged victorious from Nawada by defeating his nearest rival Raj Ballabh Yadav of RJD by a margin of nearly 1,40,000 votes. Nawada had brought cheers on face of Mr Singh who was reluctant to contest from there. This time, after having worked hard for five years for people of Nawada and the then nearest rival Mr Yadav languishing in jail in a rape case, Mr Singh was feeling easy to get blessings of people of Nawada, but again a surprise was in store for him as party high command directed him to contest from Begusarai.
Mr Singh, like in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, again expressed reluctance to comply with decision of party high command when he was fielded as candidate from Begusarai. Mr Singh had made it clear to state BJP.
