Patna, Mar 31 : Listed as one of the high-profile constituencies of total 40 seats in Bihar, Nawada Lok Sabha constituency will witness direct contest between relatives of two strongmen this time.
Chandan Kumar, brother of LJP leader Surajbhan Singh, known for his muscle power is pitted against Vibha Devi, wife of another strongman and suspended RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav.
Chandan Kumar is contesting election on LJP ticket while Vibha Devi on RJD ticket.
Under the seat sharing deal among NDA`s allies, Nawada seat went to LJP even as BJP`s outgoing MP and union minister Giriraj Singh was shifted to Begusarai.
Altogether 13 candidates including those of LJP, RJD, Bahujan Samaj Party, Shiv Sena and six Independents are in the electoral fray in Nawada Lok Sabha constituency.
In 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJP candidate Giriraj Singh had defeated RJD candidate Raj Ballabh Yadav by a margin of 140157 votes.
After his defeat, Mr Yadav had contested 2015 Bihar Assembly election from Nawada constituency and emerged victorious but lost his membership in the assembly after he was convicted to life imprisonment in a case related to rape of a minor. RJD had also suspended him later.
By election to Nawada Assembly seat would also be held simultaneously with Nawada Lok Sabha constituency on April 11.
