Patna, Mar 31 : Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi will take on JD (U) candidate Vijay Kumar Manjhi, son of former stone-cutter and former MP Bhagwati Devi in Gaya Lok Sabha constituency scheduled to go to poll in the first phase on April 11.
Ms Bhagwati had represented Gaya Lok Sabha constituency in 1990s.
Under the seat sharing deal among Bihar NDA`s allies, BJP conceded Gaya seat to JD (U) even as the party`s outgoing MP Hari Manjhi had won elections from the seat in 2009 and 2014.
JD (U) candidate Mr Manjhi will have a huge challenge to keep the NDA`s flag flying high in Gaya Lok Sabha constituency, considered as stronghold of BJP.
Mr Manjhi is younger son of RJD former MP Bhagwati Devi who had won the election from Gaya in 1996.
JD (U) candidate`s sister Samata Devi is presently an RJD MLA, and he was also elected to Bihar Assembly in February, 2005 election.
