Patna, Mar 24 : Within two days of Grand Alliance announcing number of seats to be contested by its constituents for Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, RJD one of its constituents today announced candidates for second phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 18 next. In the second phase, polling will be held in Banka, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Katihar and Purnea constituencies.
Under the seat sharing arrangement among constituents of Grand Alliance, RJD will contest on Banka and Bhagalpur seats while Congress will field its candidates in Kishanganj, Katihar and Purnea seats for second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.
President of Bihar unit of RJD Ram Chandra Purve told media persons here that sitting MP from Banka and former Union minister Jai Prakash Narain Yadav would seek reelection from Banka, while sitting MP from Bhagalpur Bulo Mandal would be fielded again from this seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Harkhu Jha said that party would announce its candidates soon for the seats allotted to it in seat sharing agreement.
Out of total 40 seats in Bihar, RJD will contest on 19 seats leaving 9 for Congress, 5 for RLSP, 3 each for Hindustani Awam Morcha(HAM) and Vikasshil Insan Pary(VIP), and one for CPI(ML).UNI
