Bagaha, Feb 26 : Vigilance sleuths arrested a government officer when he was accepting bribe of Rs 36,000 from the complainant in West Champaran district today.
Sources at the vigilance department said that a trap was laid on block education officer of Ramnagar block V K Srivastava under the leadership of a DSP rank officer Mohammed Jalauddin when principal of Khajuria primary school teacher Munindra Ram lodged a complaint against him at vigilance headquarters in the state capital. Mr Ram had informed the vigilance department that government officer was demanding bribe to release fund from development fund.
Sources said vigilance sleuths arrested the government officer when he was accepting bribe of Rs 36,000 at the block office. The nabbed government officer is being brought to vigilance headquarters for his interrogation and subsequent production in a vigilance court. (UNI)
