Toll rises to seven in Seemanchal train mishap

Patna, Feb 3 : The toll in train mishap involving derailment of nine bogies of Jogbani-Anand Vihar Terminal express near Sahadai Buzurg railway station in Vaishali district early on Sunday morning rose to seven with the recovery of one more body.

Railway Board director (Information and Publicity) Rajesh Dutt Bajpai said that two passengers were critically injured even as 27 others sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

He said the injured had been admitted to Hajipur Sadar Hospital, railway hospital and other hospitals.

Mr Bajpai said that six deceased had already been identified and attempts were on to identify one more deceased.

The incident took place at nearly 3:58 am after the train passed Mehnar Road.

The derailed coaches include three sleeper (S8, S9, S10), one general and one AC (B3). (UNI)
