Bihar Minister surrenders, gets bail

Patna, Nov 03: Bihar Industry Minister Jaikumar Singh today surrendered before a local court in connection with violation of model code of conduct during Bihar Assembly elections 2005 and he was granted bail.

Judge of special court Prashuram Singh Yadav granted bail to Mr Singh after he surrendered and prayed for bail in connection with violation of model code of conduct during Bihar assembly elections 2005. The court directed Mr Singh to comply with certain conditions while granting bail to him. He assured that he would appear in the court on next three dates fixed for the hearing.

As it is, some unknown persons had entered into a booth during assembly elections and forcibly got signature of polling personnel on some papers. They left the polling station after getting signature of some papers without informing the personnel about it properly.

Chargesheet was filed against Mr Singh and others in this connection in the year 2009. Bail of Mr Singh granted to him earlier was cancelled after he failed to appear in the court on dates fixed for hearing.
