Three naxalites arrested in Gaya

Gaya, Aug 10: Police today arrested three hardcore naxalites from separate places under various police stations areas in Gaya district.

Senior Police Superintendent Rajeev Mishra said here that acting on a tip off, raid was conducted at a hide-out under Barachatti police station area, leading to the arrest of hardcore naxalite Ashok Mahto from there.

He was wanted in connection with several cases relating to disruptive activities engineered by naxalites under Imamganj and Gurua police station areas in Gaya district and also in Jharkhand state, he added.

"In another operation, two naxalites Uday Yadav and Dilip Yadav were arrested from Mufassil police station area in the district," Mr Mishra said, adding that both were natives of Lakhaua village under Vazirganj police station area.

Cases were pending against him in connection with naxal attack on camp office of private construction company under Mufassil police station area in Gaya district and Sridala police station area in Nawada district, he stated.

Senior Police Superintendent said that during the vehicle checking near Domuhan under Bodhgaya police station, a person was arrested with one pistol and four cartridges. He was also suspected to be naxalite, Mr Mishra said, adding that he was being interrogated. (UNI)
