Guwahati, Jun 5 : The number of COVID 19 cases continued to increase in Assam as 38 new patients were detected on Friday, taking the overall tally to 2153. State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed of the new cases as well as discharges through Twitter.
Among the new cases,13 are from Darrang and nine from Dima Hasao districts. The discharge of 39 patients has taken the number of recovered COVID 19 positive patients to 498. They were discharged from different hospitals across the state after testing negative twice for the infection.
The number of active cases in the state now stands at 1648, while four patients have died so far. The state had witnessed a massive spike in COVID-19 cases over the last two days, with more than 550 cases detected. (UNI)
