Assam's COVID tally rises to 1361 so far

Guwahati, Jun 1 : The total number of new cases of COVID 19 positive in Assam yesterday was 145, pushing the overall tally to 1361, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed here today. After reporting 123 new cases till late last night, 22 more were added to yesterday's tally, Dr Sarma informed on Twitter.

Among yesterday's cases, two were from the airport, while details of one patient are yet to be ascertained. Lakhimpur has reported 18 new cases, 16 from Tinsukia, 14 from Dibrugarh, 12 from Barpeta, 10 from Goalpara, nine from Kokrajhar, and seven each from Sivsagar, Nagaon and Udalguri, among others. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 1169, while 185 have recovered and four have died so far. The number of cases has doubled since May 25, when the 500-mark was reached, to cross 1000 on May 30. The number of active cases had breached the 1,000-mark the same day. (UNI)
