Guwahati, May 30 : After the first repatriation flight to the North Eastern region during the nationwide lockdown landed at Guwahati airport yesterday from Kuwait, another from Manila in Philippines is likely to arrive soon. Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna informed that the Embassy in Manila has proposed a flight from Manila to Guwahati.
“All stranded students of North East in Philippines are requested to reach out Indian Embassy in Manila and share their personal contact details soon,” he informed through Twitter. The date for the flight is yet to be fixed, he added.
A repatriation flight with 155 passengers on board from Kuwait had landed at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here, the only international airport in North East, yesterday.
The Chief Secretary had earlier indicated that special repatriation flights are also likely from Ukraine and Moscow, besides Kuwait and Philippines. (UNI)
