Guwahati, May 26 : Assam continued to record an increase in COVID 19 positive tally with 49 new cases today this morning, putting the overall figure at 597. State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed of the new cases through Twitter.
Among the new cases, 21 are from Golaghat, eight from Morigaon, seven from Nagaon, four from Lakhimpur, three from Goalpara, and two from Karbi Anglong. One case each has been detected from Hojai and MMC Hospital at Guwahati.
The total number of COVID 19 cases in the state now stands at 597, after the state witnessed the biggest-yet single-day spike of 156 yesterday. The number of active cases now is 528, while 62 have recovered and four have died so far. (UNI)
