Assam COVID tally at 64 with 2 new cases; recovery figure at 39

Guwahati, May 11 : Two new cases of COVID 19 positive were detected in Assam today, pushing up the total tally to 64, even as five other positive patients were discharged from hospital following recovery. Both the new cases have been detected in Guwahati, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “Alert – 2 persons are tested COVID19+ in Guwahati. One originally hails from Morigaon, while the other is from Guwahati itself.” The person from Guwahati is reportedly a businessman, while the one from Morigaon was admitted at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) already due to some other ailment and was tested after he developed COVID 19 symptoms.

Meanwhile, five positive patients of Bongaigaon district, who were admitted at MMC Hospital here, were discharged today. With this, the number of total discharged patients in the state has risen to 39, while two others have died. (UNI)
